Update on Lake Hills arson

Bellevue police report that they have located the suspect from Thursday morning’s arson incident in the Lake Hills neighborhood.

Police say they spotted the man walking along street in the 14700 block of Main Street. The man has been taken into custody.

Original story

Bellevue police are looking for a man who allegedly set a home on fire in the Lake Hills neighborhood in Bellevue.

Officers were called to the home just before 3 a.m. Thursday. A woman told police that she suspected that someone she knew set the blaze.

Meeghan Black with the Bellevue Police Department says the woman has only told them they are related. Therefore, officers are investigating this as a domestic violence incident.

“Our K9 units and officers are actively searching for a 56-year-old subject,” Black said.

“We don’t feel there is any greater risk at this time, but we do want to get this guy, talk to him, and figure out what exactly happened,” she said.

Black says this is likely an isolated incident with no risk to the public. The woman was not hurt in the Lake Hills fire, which was handled quickly by firefighters.
