A man聽has pleaded guilty to raping and sexually abusing middle school girls in his Bothell apartment in exchange for vapes and edibles.
According to court documents, Strom plead guilty to two counts of rape of a child, two counts of assault, and drug possession. He faces up to 5.5 years in prison and a $5,000 fine. Strom must also register as a sex offender.
Perry Strom is expected to be sentenced in August.
According to court documents, Strom pleaded guilty to raping and sexually abusing girls between the ages of 12 and 14 in 2022.
The documents reveal that all three girls were attending Marysville Middle School at the time.
They reportedly messaged Strom on Snapchat to get vapes and weed edibles and were asked to send inappropriate photos.
Strom allegedly got them an Uber from the Marysville Skate Center to his Bothell apartment.
Once the girls were there, he reportedly wanted sexual favors in return for the products.
That night, Strom allegedly sexually assaulted all three of them.
Strom allegedly remained in contact with some of the girls and, in another case, performed sexual intercourse with one of them.
鈥淲e want him to be held accountable,鈥 Casey McNerthney, spokesperson for the King County Prosecutor鈥檚 Office, said.
McNerthney said Strom could be facing between 4.5 and 5.5 years behind bars.
鈥淎 lot of people would look at that and say, 鈥榃hy is the sentencing that for such a terrible offense?鈥 and really, that鈥檚 what state lawmakers have said when you have this kind of background and this kind of crime,鈥 McNerthney said.
It鈥檚 not enough time for Jazmin Peerson, who said she was previously stalked by Strom and that he threatened to kill her roommate.
鈥淗e is dangerous,鈥 she said. 鈥淧erry Strom is an individual who needs to be away a lot longer than five years.鈥
Peerson is thankful he鈥檒l have to register as a sex offender.
鈥淣ow that he has to register as a sex offender, I can see where he鈥檚 living, which means the community as a whole can now see where he鈥檚 living and choose to live away from him,鈥 she said.
She hopes other survivors of stalking and sexual harassment know it鈥檚 okay to come forward and seek help.
鈥淭here is more support in the last five years than there were throughout a lot of our history,鈥 she said. 鈥淚t鈥檚 OK to speak out.鈥
