The Bellevue Police Department is urging the public to report any sightings of 28-year-old Samuel Hitchcock, who has been identified as a suspect in a recent homicide investigation.
Hitchcock is homeless and may no longer be in the Bellevue area, according to authorities. However, police still caution residents not to approach him if seen, but instead to immediately call 911.
The case stems from an incident on the morning of Wednesday, July 30. Officers responded around 7:23 a.m. to a call reporting a possible death on the 13800 block of SE Eastgate Way. When officers arrived, they discovered a 54-year-old man deceased near a facility building. Bellevue Fire personnel confirmed the individual was dead at the scene.
The police determined the death was the result of a homicide, and investigators have since linked Hitchcock to the case. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or via the P3 Tips mobile app.
