Seattle Police are investigating a collision involving two patrol vehicles in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle.

The incident happened early Tuesday morning on S Michigan Street and 6th Avenue S and disrupted traffic in the area.

Around 5:45 a.m., officers attempted to stop a “suspicious vehicle,” but the car eluded them before being found again.

The male suspect driver resisted officers, got back into his vehicle, and, in his escape by driving off, caused injury to the officers. The suspect vehicle rammed another police vehicle fleeing from the location.

The police then rammed the suspect’s car, stopping it from leaving by “performing a vehicle tactic rendering the suspect vehicle inoperable.”

Seattle Police say officers were recovering a stolen car, and the suspect is now in custody.

Seattle Fire Department responded and provided medical aid at the scene. Officers sustained minor injuries from being dragged from the fleeing suspect car and were transported to Harborview Medical Center

The 34-year-old suspect was arrested for assault, driving under the influence, and eluding. He will be booked later into King County Jail.
