Starbucks found out how someone really feels about Seattle’s well-known coffee giant on Tuesday.
The F-word spelled out in giant letters was placed above the 1600 East Olive Way Starbucks sign.
An employee with the branch confirmed the sign was real. The branch would not comment further on the incident.
Joshua Henry saw the sign at approximately 6 a.m., he said.
“It was gone within the hour,” he said.
It’s unclear why the sign was placed there. However, Starbucks recently announced it is selling top-rated coffee beans for $80 a pound, or brewed for $7.50 a cup.
The Seattle Police Department received a call about the sign at 7 a.m., according to Detective Patrick Michaud.
“We got a call from the Starbucks on East Olive Way saying somebody put a rude sign over their Starbucks sign,” Michaud said.
The sign was gone when police received the call, he added.
There are no suspects and probably very little evidence, Michaud said. If someone was caught, it would be a misdemeanor for trespassing and another for any property damage, he said.
