A man accused of causing a deadly crash after fleeing King County deputies on Tuesday is due in court Wednesday.
With his 1-year-old boy in the backseat of his vehicle, Delmar Young was weaving in and out of traffic when he collided with another car Tuesday morning, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office. The crash killed a 53-year-old Maple Valley man.
When deputies attempted to take Young into custody, the Spanaway father fought back, according to Detective Jason Houck. Deputies tased Young before taking him into custody.
Houck says they believe Young was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. His son was not injured in the crash.
The crash forced law enforcement to closed Issaquah-Hobart Road for about two hours.
