Firefighters responded to a fire burning the All Saints Lutheran Church along Military Road South in Auburn Sunday night.
Investigators with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are at the scene, investigating the cause of the fire. The cause is unknown as of this reporting, but a witness told that they saw聽fireworks in the area right before the flames broke out.
Fireworks have been illegal in unincorporated King County since 2022.
While the flames have been extinguished, the fire grew so fierce that firefighters called a second alarm to mobilize additional crews and resources. An entire wing of the church was burned and destroyed, alongside a travel trailer and trees surrounding the building.
The extent of the damage, and whether any injuries occurred, have not been revealed as of this reporting.
