The rankings came out Thursday. Amazon scored the highest out of the local companies to make the cut, placing fifth out of 500.

“Today (Amazon) is the disruptor to beat in everything from bundled memberships of free and speedy retail delivery and original video programming to groundbreaking Alexa-powered Echo digital assistants,” Fortune’s listing for the company said.

Amazon’s revenues grew 31 percent in 2018 alone, earning $10 billion. Much of that came from its web hosting and software offering, Amazon Web Services.

Costco came in at 14th, reporting a nearly 10 percent revenue increase last year.

While many of the companies in the Fortune 500 are tech or industrial-focused, Weyerhauser snuck in under the wire at 406th. The Seattle-based forestry company is the largest private landowner in the United States.

Microsoft managed to crack the top 30 at 26th,聽briefly boasting a valuation of $1 trillion in April. Interestingly enough, the company’s growth was largely driven by its cloud computer business, rather than its industry-standard Windows operating system.

Rounding out Washington’s offerings were Boeing (28th), Starbucks (121st), PACCAR (130th), Nordstrom (196th), Expedia (280th), Alaska Airlines (368th), Expeditor’s International of Washington (374th), and Fortive (422th).

Checking in as the top company on Fortune’s list was Walmart, followed by Exxon Mobil, Apple, and Berkshire Hathaway respectively.
