Local Machinists are rescinding their endorsement of Congressman Rick Larsen.
Larsen issued a statement that was seen as pro-Boeing and anti-union during the 777X contract agreement.
“It needs to be made very clear that it’s inappropriate for elected officials to get in the middle of contract negotiations, because in this case, he hurt it,” said the Machinists Union’s political director Larry Brown.
A statement released by the Machinists said that by pressing for a vote, Larsen helped Boeing strip away pensions and health care benefits of its members.
Brown says they’re also considering the same action against the Snohomish County Executive and the Mayor of Everett for the same reason.
