A 16-year-old from Bremerton died after his older brother allegedly stabbed him on June 2.
The Bremerton Police Department (BPD) responded to an assault call that was upgraded to a stabbing. The two teenage brothers were at the scene when deputies arrived.
The 16-year-old younger brother died on the scene from stab wounds despite efforts to stabilize him by first responders. The older brother, 18, is accused of stabbing his younger brother in the chest and has been booked into Kitsap County Jail, according to a BPD press release.
Details from the stabbing
At approximately 6:33 p.m., BPD officers were dispatched to the 200 block of S. Cambrian Ave in Bremerton, Washington.
A probable cause statement said the officers found the suspect being restrained by his father, and the father told the police that his son stabbed his younger brother, according to the release.
The suspect told BPD officers that he argued with his brother because he didn’t clean his side of the porch, and the argument led to the stabbing, according to a report by BPD included in court documents.
BPD found a knife lying on the ground close by, which was confirmed to be the weapon used, according to the release.
