A man was shot and killed in Seattle’s Chinatown-International District on Thursday afternoon, according to Seattle police.
Just after 2:00 p.m., police responded to the intersection of 13th Avenue South and South Lane Street for reports that someone had been shot. According to the Seattle Police Blotter, arriving officers found a man with a gunshot wound and attempted life saving measures, but medics declared the man dead at the scene.
Seattle police are investigating the incident and searching for the shooter who fled the scene, according to 成人X站 7 News.
It has been a violent year in the Chinatown-International District. According to crime statistics from the Seattle Police Department, before Thursday鈥檚 homicide, there were six reported deadly shootings in the neighborhood, which is the highest in all of the city鈥檚 areas.
Police were asked if the person shot or the shooter was homeless. They said it was too early to tell in the investigation.
鈥淎t this point, this is all under investigation. But that is something we will be exploring and looking into as detectives go through everything. But at this point, still unknown,鈥 Detective Valarie Carson said to 成人X站 7.
