State troopers arrested a man Wednesday evening for carrying a semi-automatic weapon on board a Washington State Ferry without a proper permit.
Crew members called for help when they spotted the 39-year-old man carrying ammunition onto the vessel docked at Mukilteo. The man immediately went into a bathroom after boarding the “Tokitae.”
Trooper Kevin Fortino told 成人X站 Radio the man did not have a concealed carry permit for the AR-15 style rifle that troopers found with him upon his arrest in the restroom.
“There was no threatening behavior that made the crew concerned for the passengers safety … other than finding the behavior concerning,” Trooper Fortino said, adding that the man did appear to be intoxicated.
The ferry was delayed for about a half-hour so troopers could sweep the vessel and make sure the situation was under control.
The man was booked into the Snohomish County Jail on charges of carrying a concealed weapon without a concealed carry permit.
