Two Olympia police officers shot and killed a robbery suspect outside the Starbucks on Sleater Kinney Road and Martin Way Monday morning.
The suspect, whom Olympia Police Department have not identified as of Monday afternoon, allegedly stole items from a nearby ampm convenience store before walking into a Starbucks in an agitated state.
Starbucks employees called the police to report the man for disorderliness.
The 37-year-old robbery suspect then wandered into a nearby intersection. Responding OPD officers were able to coax the man into a safer location, at which point the suspect pulled out a knife, wielding the weapon aggressively, according to a public information officer with the OPD.
Officers shot the man, one of whom suffered minor knife-related injuries in the process.
