Pet Zone toy recalled over risk of serious injury, death

Petmate has issued an urgent warning about one of its Pet Zone toys.

Pet Zone Laser Pointer and LED Ball Pet Toys were recalled Thursday due to the risk of serious injury or death, the announced.

Pet Zone toy was sold online Sept. to March

They were sold at Mendards stores nationwide and online from September 2024 through March 2025 for around $4.

The laser pointer is white with blue paw prints and measures about 2.9 inches. The item number printed on the back is #15712EAM.

“Swallowed batteries can cause serious injuries, internal chemical burns, and death,” CPSC wrote on its website.

Those who purchased the toy should immediately stop using it and contact Petmate for a refund, officials stated.
