One person was shot and killed in Kent at a strip mall parking lot during a dispute Wednesday night.

The shots were fired shortly before 7 p.m. in the Target parking lot off of 104th Avenue Southeast. Police say witnesses heard six or seven shots.

“People came back inside that were exiting, and stopped and said, ‘I hear gunshots outside &#8212 six or seven,'” witness Kim Knapman told KING 5. “Security for the store went by the front doors and wouldn’t let people exit at that point. They said to stay inside.”

The victim is a 23-year-old man, KING 5 reports. He died in an SUV.

Police report that the driver of a late 1980s or early 1990s white or silver Toyota Carolla fired the shots at the man. Police are now searching for that vehicle.

Police report that two suspects where in the fleeing vehicle, but have not release any descriptions.
