Boat catches fire at Port of Everett; 4 people and dog safely escape

A boat harboring four people and a dog caught on fire at The Port of Everett Marina Fuel Dock at approximately 10:35 a.m. Friday, the Everett Fire Department (EFD) .
All occupants, including the dog, were able to safely evacuate. Two individuals are being evaluated for smoke inhalation.

The 32-foot vessel was full of 300 gallons of fuel. EFD mentioned there was no apparent fuel leak or spill, although the Department of Ecology and the Coast Guard are assessing the surrounding waters.
There is damage to the fuel dock, which will also be assessed. The fuel dock has been closed by the Port of Everett until further notice.
EFD advised boaters to steer clear of the area while firefighters and other agencies work.
EFD updated at 11:50 a.m. that the boat had been removed from the fuel dock. The damage to the dock is still being evaluated.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
