We could be in for a blustery, wet Thanksgiving holiday weekend across the Puget Sound region.
Puget Sound region鈥檚 year of record-breaking weather continues
The National Weather Service is watching an atmospheric river that could bring heavy rain into the region Wednesday through Thursday, although it’s unclear if Western Washington or Canada will get the brunt of it.
“There’ll be a large pool of moisture aimed somewhere at the Pacific Northwest, whether it is targeted north into Canada or across our area remains to be seen,” NWS meteorologist Matthew Cullen told 成人X站 Radio.
Rivers are expected to rise again as well, but Cullen notes that it will “not be of the magnitude we saw with that major flooding recently.” High winds are also expected along the coast and North Sound.
After that, meteorologists say second system is poised to hit toward the tail end of the holiday weekend, expecting another period of heavy rain starting late in the day on Saturday.
“There could be another round of fairly heavy rain that could linger for a period of time,” Cullen predicted.
That will all operate as part of as “a continuous onslaught of rain,” with parts of Washington potentially getting over five inches of rainfall across a seven day period that started on Tuesday of this week.
