People from all across the Puget Sound area gathered at Cal Anderson Park in Seattle on Sunday night for a vigil for the 49 people killed at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Fl.

“There are 7 million Washington hearts in Orlando tonight,” Gov. Jay Inslee said, promising support from Yakima, Spokane, and cities across the entire state.

Inslee spoke at the park along with Mayor Ed Murray, King County Executive Dow Constantine, Monisha Harrell of Equal Rights Washington, and leaders from the LGBTQ community.

“We come out tonight in love, but let’s also commit to stay together in action,” Harrell said.

The vigil ended with a proclamation from the crowd – “I exist,” and music from the Seattle Men’s Chorus and Seattle Women’s Chorus.
