A suspected drunk driver involved in a minor car crash Wednesday night in Edmonds didn’t stick around, and after departing the first scene crashed again only moments later.
The driver sped away from the first crash driving so recklessly that several people called 911.
“People were calling in saying this person was speeding and weaving in and out of traffic and apparently his driving was just horrendous,” said Police sergeant Mark Marsh.
At least one traffic officer had stopped this guy before.
“When he heard the description of the vehicle, he recognized it from a previous contact,” said Marsh. “How recent that was, I’m not sure.”
The other driver involved in the first crash, near 210th Street SW and 74th Avenue West, said the other driver was slurring his speech.
Within minutes of the first crash, Marsh said the hit-and-run driver plowed through a yard about a mile away and rolled his car several times.
He’s being treated at Harborview Medical Center, in Seattle, for non-life threatening injuries.
