‘Suspicous’ explosive device in Lynnwood was live, made safe by bomb squad

A suspicious device found in a Lynnwood apartment garage forced a lockdown at Beverly Elementary School Monday morning.
The suspicious device was live, according to police.
The Washington State Patrol Bomb squad was able to make the device safe.
The apartment complex was evacuated Monday morning due to a report of a “suspicious” device. Two bomb squad technician arrived on scene in the 5200 block of 168th Street SW.
A nearby business was also evacuated and Beverly Elementary School was placed on modified lockdown, according to Lynnwood police.
The Lynnwood Fire Department was at the apartment complex, doing an inspection, when it was told by a complex employee the device was left behind by a former tenant.
