Tacoma tavern gets liquor license suspended over ‘willful non-compliance’ with COVID rules

A Tacoma tavern’s liquor license is suspended for six months because of dozens of COVID violations.
Tacoma bar fined again for COVID-19 violations
The state Liquor and Cannabis Board (LCB) says has repeatedly broken pandemic safety rules, and that it will work to permanently pull its liquor license in the months ahead.
In total, it received 60 complaints for “numerous, repeated COVID-19 violations.” The LCB also reported having “many discussions” with the tavern’s owner following a series of verbal and written warnings and $800 in fines.
Those violations included the frequent sighting of unmasked patrons, serving alcohol past the cutoff time, and numerous calls to the Tacoma Police Department for noise complaints and fighting inside the bar.
In deciding to suspend the bar’s liquor license, the LCB cited “willful non-compliance and disregard for public health” on the part of the owner, Kyle Bidwell.
Four bars or restaurants in our state have now had liquor licenses suspended temporarily for ignoring COVID-related operations rules.
