Alaska Airlines has issued a travel advisory after a tsunami watch for the Washington coast was upgraded to a tsunami advisory late Tuesday night.

The advisory remains in effect as of Wednesday morning. In response, the airline is urging passengers traveling to the Hawaii Islands to check their flight status regularly as delays and cancellations are expected across key Hawaiian airports.

The airline has since implemented a flexible travel policy for customers who purchased tickets on or before July 29 for a trip before July 30.

Travelers now have the option to rebook their flights at no additional charge for travel through August 3, 2025. Alternatively, passengers can cancel their flights without penalty and opt for travel credits or refunds.

The airline also cautions that minors traveling alone and pets in checked baggage may face additional restrictions due to the potential for disrupted service and infrastructure concerns.

Passengers who booked through platforms like Expedia should contact those services for assistance with canceling flights.

As weather and emergency conditions can change rapidly, Alaska Airlines emphasizes the importance of early planning and flexibility. For more information, visit the or contact customer service.
