Wealthy people across the world are following Microsoft founder Bill Gates’ example in giving a fortune to those who are less fortunate.
12 more of America’s wealthiest have added their names to the Giving Pledge, which Bill and Melinda Gates and Warren Buffett started in 2010.
There are now 81 pledgers who’ve signed on promising to give away at least half of their wealth in their lifetimes, or at death, to charity.
Some of the new people on the list are the co-founder of PayPal, the chief executive of Tesla Motors and the co-founder of Home Depot.
According to the latest Forbes list, there are 1,153 billionaires in the world.
