UW burglary suspect contacts police, other break-ins still being investigated

After recognizing himself in video and pictures, the man shown sneaking into a University of Washington sorority self-reported to Seattle police on Thursday.
Police interviewed and released the man.
Detectives continue to investigate other recent reports of burglaries at houses in the University District.
Cameras captured the man who self-reported following a woman down the street in the the on Feb. 20. As she walked into a door at the home, he quickened his pace, caught the door before it shut, and walked inside. Police said he stared at the surveillance camera before walking up a flight of stairs and abruptly turning and leaving.

SPD has been investigating a series of burglaries at homes around the University District. Detectives say several women have reported waking up in the middle of the night to find a strange man in their rooms.
