Magnitude-3 earthquakes shook to the north and south of Washington Saturday evening.
The United States Geological Survey reports that just before 6 p.m., a magnitude-3.2 was recorded near Coquitlam, Canada, east of Vancouver. Not long after, a magnitude-3.0 was recorded near Beaverton, Ore.
More than 60 people feeling the quake in Beaverton, 10 miles west of Portland.
John Vidale with the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network wrote that the Portland area only gets an earthquake of that size every few years. There have been about 10 of such quakes since 1985, according to Vidale.
