WATCH: Food truck stuck on I-5 serves up tacos

Feb 27, 2017, 1:29 PM | Updated: 1:52 pm

Drivers stranded on I-5 Monday may have been at the mercy of the state as to when they could move, but at least they didn’t have to go hungry.

A food truck began serving up tacos on northbound I-5 as people continued to wait for crews to clear an overturned truck that was hauling butane.

³ÉÈËXÕ¾ Radio’s Dori Monson interviewed the owner of the taco truck. Listen to the interview below:

No ETA on reopening I-5

There is still no ETA as to when the mainline of I-5 at I-90 will reopen to traffic.

The Washington State Department of Transportation did open the northbound I-5 express lanes around 1:30 p.m. to help clear traffic.

Meanwhile, drivers stuck in southbound lanes are having to find alternative ways off the freeway — if possible.

The Washington State Department of Transportation says people should start planning their evening commute now.

“It’s best to start making arrangements for the evening commute,” WSDOT’s Justin Fujioka said. “Whether you start leaving now, sit it out and have dinner in town … But be prepared for a very slow commute.”
