The Kittitas County Sheriff has issued a Level 3 ‘Leave Now’ evacuation notice to residents near a growing brush fire that continues to spread.
The Level 3 evacuation notice was for residents living north of the 9000 block of Colockum Road.
Additionally, a Level 2 “Get Ready” evacuation notice has been extended south of the 9000 block to Trail Creek, as a precautionary measure in case the fire continues to advance.
The fire has grown to more than 20 acres and is burning through heavy brush, grass, and timber near Colockum Road and Trail Creek Road.
Local fire teams, including the Kittitas Valley Fire and Rescue and the Washington State Department of Natural Resources, are actively fighting the flames. Air resources have also been deployed to support firefighting efforts.
Officials warn that conditions are unpredictable, and residents in the affected areas should stay alert for further updates. Residents are advised to follow all evacuation instructions and monitor local news sources for the latest information.
