The Winter Weather Advisory that had drivers on high alert Tuesday morning was canceled by the National Weather Service around 8:40 a.m.

The advisory called for up to 3 inches of snow in the lowlands from Tacoma south past Chehalis and Aberdeen east to the Cascades.

In defense of meteorologists: Don鈥檛 get mad at forecasts

Up to 1 inch of snow was estimated to fall between Bremerton and Seattle and into neighboring communities.

Temperatures were too warm for snow to become a reality.

The canceled advisory doesn’t mean roads weren’t dangerous. Ice created slick surfaces around the Puget Sound region.

Dozens of schools were on two-hour delay Tuesday morning. Many buses were on snow routes.

Check school delays

Forecast models show Western Washington warming up over the next few days. By Friday, highs will be in the upper-30s. Over the weekend we could see highs in the mid-40s.
