Four construction workers were rescued after scaffolding collapsed underneath them, causing them to fall into an under-construction water tank in Taholah.
They fell just before 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. The rescue required multiple agencies to assist, including members from Hoquiam Fire, Quinault Fire, Aberdeen Fire, Thurston County Special Operations, Grays Harbor County Special Operations, Grays Harbor Fire District 2, East Grays Harbor Fire and Rescue, Grays Harbor Fire District 7, Grays Harbor Fire District 8, Olympic Ambulance, the Roger Saux Clinic, and the Coast Guard.
The Coast Guard piloted a helicopter in order to extricate all four patients and transport them to medical care.
“This was the first activation for Grays Harbor members and seven members were able to respond to assist,” the Hoquiam Fire Department stated. “Great work by everyone.”
