Qwest Field will now be known as CenturyLink Field, the Seahawks announced on Monday.
By Tuesday, several news outlets had dubbed the field “The Clink.” But some 97.3 成人X站 FM staffers say they got there first. We decided to investigate.
Prost Amerika Soccer: posted June 20 (first comment registered at 11:15 a.m.)
(Prost Amerika might be the winner, but, there is some debate as to whether they were just abbreviating, going with CLink (would be pronounced (see-link) with capital ‘L’ and hadn’t really gone so far as to change to clink, pronounced (klink).)
Sounder at Heart: The idea of calling it “The Clink” has already been thrown out there. (Where? – we ask) posted June 20 12:20 p.m.
Here’s the 成人X站 report that first referenced “The Clink” on June 20 at 12:57 p.m.
NBC Sports: – Commenter thevolcanokid says: Jun 20, 2011 4:20 PM Yay! Now we芒鈧劉re playing games in the Clink!
Crosscut: posted June 21 around 11 a.m.
Herald Net: June 21.
The Clink may have also hit earlier on after the initial reports of the acquisition of Qwest in April.
Field Gulls: – In story body it read: Qwest (the CLink hasn’t caught on yet, I guess) posted Jun 7.
Sorry 成人X站, looks like the idea was already out there. But we support you championing (klink) pronunciation over (see-link) in news reports. Let’s make it official!
