MYNORTHWEST OPINION

Emma, Mila, are these starlet crushes or do they border on stalking?

Today’s Harry Potter count down (with the U.S. midnight showing two evenings away) includes a tidbit about Mila Kunis, and a Emma Watson superfan’s sign that caught my eye.

To start, as I perused our Harry Potter galleries on MyNorthwest.com, I found this Associated Press photo of a rather hunky Italian man, apparently so in love with Emma Watson that he only want to deliver her a letter. What could be in that letter? He waited four nights! Is he a stalker, or is he just in love with a starlet? There are so many question, and just no answers to be had.

I do hope that Emma’s publicist at least picked up the written worlds from the Italian fan, and hopefully they were filled with adoration, and not, well, stalker creepiness.

Yesterday another man-chasing-starlet piece of news caught my attention. Apparently a soldier in Afghanistan posted a video where he asked Mila Kunis to be his date to a military ball in November. And apparently Kunis responded with a “yes.” This sort of celebrity obsession isn’t new. Girls post videos all the time begging for just one kiss from Justin Bieber.

So is different when the celebrity obsession comes from a man and is directed towards a woman?

But both genders seem to sometimes trend toward the creepy sometimes … every once in a the celebrity infatuation turns into a case of stalking.

So, Emma, while I do think your Italian fan is quite hunky, read his letter, and hopefully he won’t be digging through your trash later to find out if you threw it away.
