With Thanksgiving upon us, it’s a time to reflect on what exactly we’re grateful for during the holiday season. To that end, ³ÉÈËXÕ¾ Radio’s hosts, reporters, and on-air talent weighed in on what they’re thankful for this year.
Here’s what they had to say.
Gee Scott, ³ÉÈËXÕ¾ Nights
I’m thankful for my family, my ³ÉÈËXÕ¾ Nights team, MyNorthwest.com, and ³ÉÈËXÕ¾ Radio listeners.
Todd Herman, The Candy, Mike and Todd Show
I am thankful for God’s enduring love and unspeakable grace, for the loving support of my family and friends and for the patience and kindness of my employer in what has been the most challenging and painful time of my life.
Colleen O’Brien, Seattle’s Morning News
I am thankful the newest addition to my family, my baby June, and to have an employer that puts family first by: being flexible with schedules, implementing paid parental leave, and putting together a comfortable nursing/pumping room for the three new moms in the building. It has made a world of difference. I am also thankful that donuts regularly show up in the newsroom.
Dori Monson, The Dori Monson Show
The most important things in my life are my God, my wife, my daughters and son-in-law, and my job.
So I am thankful for my faith, my family, and my listeners.
I’m thankful to have such a great team on my radio show – Nicole Thompson is as fine a producer as you will ever find – both on and off the air. Ursula, Nicole Jennings, Sean DeTore and Andrew Endzell add so much to what we do.
I’m thankful the Seahawks are 9-2, and that I get to work with some of my closest friends in the world on the Seahawks broadcasts.
I’m thankful we got our Christmas lights up on the house before Thanksgiving this year.
And I’m thankful to Jay Inslee, Dow Constantine, Jenny Durkan, Kshama Sawant, Mitzi Johanknect, Liz Rocca and all of the other local politicians who give me an endless supply of topics every single day for The Big Show.
Happy Thanksgiving.
Candy Harper, The Candy, Mike and Todd Show
Thankfulness takes many forms around my house. I am thankful that my Kindergartner can now read, that my 9 year old has quit using the word “epic” and that both grandpas are recovering well from back and skin cancer surgeries, respectively. Do your yoga and wear sunscreen.
Frank Shiers, ³ÉÈËXÕ¾ Radio news desk
I’m thankful for the continued health of my family. Everyone is doing well. I’m also thankful for the ³ÉÈËXÕ¾ Nights family. Gee Scott, Aaron Mason, David Burbank, and our listeners make every day Thanksgiving.
Rachel Belle,
I am thankful to be in the minority of people who can still digest gluten and dairy, therefore I am thankful for all of the wonderful pizza places that have opened in Seattle in the past several years! Oh, and I suppose I am also thankful for friends, family, my cat, my health, my employment status and all that jazzzz.
Hanna Scott, ³ÉÈËXÕ¾ Radio reporter
I am thankful for my life, my family, especially my daughter, my husband, and my pug (Typhoon, Tye-Tye for short), that I have a of a job that allows me to have a platform to share the facts, and regardless of their current performance (and that of the past 20 years or so), I am grateful for my football team (sorry in advance), the Dallas Cowboys, for the level of joy, anticipation, and hope they’ve allowed me to feel.
