Would you turn down a bonus from your work?
Six employees from the Washington Transportation Department each turned down a $10,000 productivity prize for finding a way to save $6 million over three years for highway de-icing salt.
Maintenance director Chris Christopher tells that they felt the improvement was a part of their job. Meanwhile, the snow and ice team agreed to share $1,000 from the state Productivity Board.
This begs the question, would you ever consider passing up a bonus from your employer?
