Will the Mariners make a move at the trade deadline?

Nearing the halfway point of the season, will the Mariners make a deal at the MLB trade deadline?

The (39-39) Mariners sit only 1.5 games behind the first place Texas Rangers in the American League West, a marked improvement considering the M’s were 14 games out of first at this point a year ago. The M’s have plenty of issues as they enter the dog days of summer, and most contending teams make a trade to keep their team in contention during the homestretch of the regular season.

But, according to 710 ESPN Seattle Mariners insider Shannon Drayer, don’t expect the Mariners to make a blockbuster deal this season.

Drayer will join the Brock & Salk Show at 10:00 to discuss why the Mariners will likely stay quite at the trade deadline, despite being in contention for their first playoff berth in ten years.
