When it comes to music, you might think that all the young kids are into skinny-jeaned, high top-wearing, bandanas around their wrists, eyeliner-ed dudes, but you’d be wrong.
One of the hottest bands blowing up (slow and steadily since their debut self-titled full-length in 2008) is Seattle’s Fleet Foxes. Not folk (though most often labeled folk,) not punk, not traditional rock and roll, this band of bearded fellows turns out tunes reminiscent of music makers from the 1970’s (and I’m not talking about KISS or disco.) Frontman Robin Pecknold is also featured on the cover of SPIN magazine this month.
So why aren’t you listening to them yet? Well, maybe it’s because you didn’t have the link to stream their album.
WAIT! We can solve that problem. .
Did we mention that they’re from Seattle? It’s kind of nice that the tradition of excellent music from our area continues.
The video for the band’s first single off Helplessness Blues, “Grown Ocean” is also quite awesome. Watch below:
Helplessness Blues is available May 3rd from .
