Unmarried and childless at age 40? That’s irresponsible

Single, childless, and over age 40? You may not want to read this.
KTTH host Ben Shapiro says that if you are 40 or older, are not married, and have not considered having kids, then you are irresponsible.
Hear him out. Shapiro reasons that getting married and having kids – essentially, devoting your life to a family – makes you a better person. And, the more people we have in our society doing this, the better our society is.
Shapiro mentioned this philosophy to a single, unmarried, childless 40-year-old friend recently. No surprise, the friend found it insulting.
“I’m not really insulting you,” Shapiro told his friend. “I’m pointing something out. Something that’s true.”
Fewer people in our society devoting their lives to creating a family, Shapiro says, has serious repercussions. The 41st anniversary of Roe v. Wade passed on Wednesday, underscoring the need to focus on the family.
“If we don’t have enough people leading responsible lives, then we’ve created a society that’s simply unsustainable,” Shapiro said.
“That’s exactly what’s happened with abortion. We’ve engaged in every kind of sex, every kind of drug – and we’ve told ourselves that there are no consequences.
“There are consequences. It’s just that they’re born on the unborn. They’re born by those who are killed [by abortion]. That’s the deepest sign of a deeply sick society.”
