The small city of Cle Elum in Washington has officially filed for Chapter 9 bankruptcy after racking up nearly $26 million in debt tied to a land-development deal gone south.

Developer Sean Northrop, whose company City Heights is owed around $27 million, joined The John Curley Show to claim the city 鈥渨alked away from the negotiating table,鈥� forcing them into legal insolvency鈥攖he second city in Washington鈥檚 history to take this step.
