Video: Seattle Police Kept Peace at “No Kings” Rally

During the massive “No Kings” protest in Seattle—drawing approximately 70,000 people in opposition to the Trump administration—SPD took a “less is more” approach to crowd management.
Seattle Police Chief Shon Barnes joined The Gee and Ursula Show to explain the strategy: avoid unnecessary engagement, communicate early, and stay present without provoking tension. Officers from the Police Outreach and Engagement Team (POET) coordinated with organizers before and during the march.
