Lacey parents found not guilty of attempted murder of daughter

A mother and father from Lacey — standing trial for the attempted murder of their teen daughter — were found not guilty of the most serious charge of attempted murder.
Ihsan Ali and Zahrra Ali were on trial for assaulting their daughter outside Timberline High School in Lacey last fall.
Witnesses reported seeing Ihsan Ali choke his daughter until she was unconscious. The girl’s boyfriend tried to help her but was also assaulted, according to , citing court documents.
Lacey parents allegedly threatened to send daughter to Iraq for marriage
The girl told investigators she was trying to get away from her parents because they planned to send her to Iraq to marry an older man, ³ÉÈËXÕ¾ 7 reported. She also said her parents threatened to kill her.
Zahrra Ali was found guilty of a lesser charge of violating a protection order.
Ihsan Ali was found guilty of assault and unlawful imprisonment.
Both will be sentenced late next month.
