Lacey hammer attack
The 20-year-old woman told the LPD that she was going door-to-door selling books when one of her potential customers attacked her.
The woman told officers that the suspect left to grab his wallet, pulled her inside the house by her hair, and hit her in the head with a hammer while threatening to kill her. The victim told LPD that she fought back and kicked the man in the face, and grabbed the suspect’s wallet before she fled so she could identify the man later.
“She is a survivor,” LPD Detective Sergeant Jeremy Knight said. “She met evil head-on, and after being struck several times on the head with a hammer, had the wherewithal to collect his identification on the way out.”
The suspect was taken into custody after LPD officers obtained a search warrant for his home.
The man was booked into the Thurston County Jail for assault, kidnapping, and harassment charges.
Officers said the victim had been treated for her injuries.
