Man found dead in Tacoma, police investigating possible homicide

A man was found dead by Tacoma police Wednesday morning. It is being investigated as a possible homicide.
Officers with the Tacoma Police Department (TPD) responded to South Wilkeson Street and South 37th Street, just a few blocks away from Jennie Reed Elementary School, at approximately 1:30 a.m. There, they found the man unresponsive with a potential gunshot wound. They tried to save him, but he died at the scene.

Tacoma, Wash. – Shortly after 1:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 3700 block of South Wilkeson Street following reports of an unresponsive male with a possible gunshot wound.
