Person of interest in Poulsbo area homicide in custody

A person of interest in a Poulsbo-area homicide was taken into custody Tuesday evening, authorities said.
Deputies had been searching for 35-year-old Laird Dinsmore in an area between Big Valley Road NE and Highway 3.
He was wanted for questioning in connection with the murder of a 50-year-old man, who was found dead outside his home in the 22000 block of Big Valley Road NE on Saturday.
On Tuesday evening, deputies were searching for Dinsmore in the area near Snider Park. Gunfire was heard around 6:30 p.m., but the sheriff鈥檚 office said no shots were fired by law enforcement. Residents in the area were advised to stay indoors.
About an hour earlier, authorities announced that the baseball field was being closed during the search.
The North Kitsap Little League agreed to postpone Tuesday night鈥檚 game 鈥渙ut of an abundance of caution,鈥 according to the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office .
Investigators expected to remain at the scene for several hours to gather evidence.
