Bail set at $10 million for suspect in Renton triple homicide case

The bail for a suspect connected to a Renton triple homicide was set at $10 million.

“The state is asking the court to impose bail in the amount of $10 million. This is based on concerns that if released on any amount lower than that, he presents a severe danger to the community, and there is an extreme risk he will commit a violent offense if he’s released,” King County Prosecutor Brent Kling said.

The suspect will be back in court on Wednesday.

Suspect arrested in connection to Renton triple homicide

A suspect was arrested less than a day after three people were killed in a shooting in a Renton neighborhood, the Renton Police Department confirmed.

The shooting occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of Kirkland Avenue N.E. and N.E. 18th Street. When officers arrived at the scene, they found two women, aged 46 and 28, and a 9-year-old girl had been fatally shot.

Two other people in the apartment were able to escape without injury, according to Renton Police.

Multiple K-9 units were deployed in the area, according to , alongside several law enforcement agencies beyond the Renton Police Department.

Using electronic devices recovered at the scene, alongside interviews from multiple witnesses, police were able to track down the suspect and arrest him at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. The suspect, a 46-year-old man, was arrested in South Seattle without incident.

Investigators told ³ÉÈËXÕ¾ 7 the shooting was related to domestic violence. Detectives believe the suspect was in a relationship with the 46-year-old woman who was killed in the shooting, and that he was spending time with the victims earlier that evening.

The Renton Police Department is continuing to investigate the shooting.
