Three injured in officer-involved shooting in Renton

An investigation is underway into an officer-involved shooting in Renton that left a teenager in critical condition.
Just after 5:00 p.m. Friday evening Renton police and a Valley SWAT team deployed to try to arrest a shooting suspect at 116th Ave. S.E. and Southeast and S.E. 168th in the Benson Hill neighborhood.
Police say when officers approached one person, someone else started shooting at the officers.
Members of Valley SWAT returned fire and three people were injured.
One of those hit by gunfire is 18 years old and is now in critical condition.
Officers on the scene administered first aid and medics from the fire department responded as well.
Two of the three people hurt were admitted to local hospitals.
Police took the shooting suspect into custody.
No officers involved in the incident were injured.
A King County Independent Force Investigative Team is piecing together the details of what led to the shooting.
