Job-killing tax hikes and reckless spending are some of the reasons former state attorney general candidate Matt Larkin lists for .

Matt Larkin won’t be attorney general, but still wants to make a difference

“That’s what I ran on last time and that’s what I’m going to continue to run on because nothing’s gotten better. In fact, things continue to get worse,” he said.

Republican Matt Larkin tells KTTH’s Jason Rantz Show that crime, drug problems, and homelessness have all gotten worse under Democrat Kim Schrier, the current U.S. representative from Washington’s 8th Congressional District.

“The 8th district is worried about this stuff creeping out — the Seattle policies that have led to drug epidemics, to homelessness, to crime. These are things that people care about,” Larkin said.

“We’re going to try to turn this state around so this stuff, these extremist policies you’re seeing in the heart of Seattle don’t creep out more than they already are,” he added.

The 8th Congressional District encompasses eastern King and Pierce counties to Chelan, Wenatchee, and Ellensburg.

“This is our district. Republicans held it for 35 years — it’s time to get it back,” Larkin said.

Rep. Schrier first won the 8th district seat in 2018, when she defeated Dino Rossi. She was a physician at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Issaquah since 2001, before entering the political realm in 2018 to fill then-Congressman Dave Reichert’s seat. In 2020, she won reelection against challenger Jesse Jensen by a margin of 52% to 48%.
