“A good man is hard to find.” That saying may be especially true in Bremerton.

Moody McMillian, a 43-year-old Seattle man, was dating a Bremerton woman, also in her 40’s, for about three months.

Last Wednesday, , Moody took a late night ferry to Bremerton and spent the night at his girlfriend’s home.

In the morning, Moody asked her if he could make her a cup of coffee, and according to the girlfriend, he insisted she drink it, to the last drop.

The woman said she started feeling odd, remembered she suddenly wanted to color, and then can’t remember anything else for the rest of the day. She had a hard time falling asleep and ended up missing two days of work.

On Friday, the woman called her daughter when she noticed a couple of her rings were missing. They confronted the man by phone. He said he put crushed aspirin into her coffee but that was all.

A urine test at the hospital proved she had more in her system than aspirin: high levels of methamphetamine.

A Bremerton police officer who interviewed the woman said she was still showing signs of being under the influence a full two days after drinking the spiked coffee.

On Saturday, Moody was arrested as he got off the ferry in Bremerton. After initially claiming the missing rings were gifts, he eventually ‘fessed up to pawning one of them for fifty bucks. And yes, he admitted to putting meth in his girlfriend’s coffee.

He’s been charged with second degree assault and theft.
