Broad daylight shooting outside Ballard Food Bank sends one to the hospital

Twenty-one-year-old Jorden Ray Watkins is a convicted felon who is no stranger to police鈥� wanted at the time of his recent arrest for escape from custody. Now, he’s being charged with first-degree assault and unlawful possession of a firearm.
On March 28, outside the Ballard Food Bank, Watkins tried selling his victim a cell phone.
The victim was armed with a pry bar. The two got into an argument, at which point the victim walked away, according to a Seattle police report. Watkins then pulled a black semi-automatic handgun and fired two shots, the second of which struck the victim in the stomach.

The shooting happened in broad daylight with other patrons 鈥渕illing around鈥� the Ballard Food Bank. Watkin鈥檚 first shot missed the other pedestrians and lodged itself in a nearby business.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he underwent surgery.
