An Enumclaw woman still considers herself innocent, but she’s pleaded guilty to assaulting a three-year-old boy who was left blinded.
The King County Prosecuting Attorney accused Chasity DuFour of shaking her boyfriend’s three-year-old son so hard he suffered a brain hemorrhage and a seizure. She claimed at the time that he fell off a bed and hit a toolbox.
DuFour, 26, entered an Alford Plea Tuesday to second degree assault. The plea means she concedes she’d likely be convicted at trial, despite her claim of innocence.
Both the prosecution and defense have agreed to a term of 22 months in prison when she’s sentenced Sept. 20.
