A local psychic is accused of cleansing more than just chakras. King County prosecutors say she also cleaned out bank accounts.
According to police, it’s a common scam meant to give the victim the impression that no crime has been committed. A woman visited a psychic on Issaquah’s Front Street several times while dealing with a divorce. The psychic allegedly told her that her money needed to be cleared of evil.
The woman handed over $25,000 in cash and $4,000 in Nordstrom gift cards. Rather than returning the funds, 36-year-old Ann Adams was caught on camera spending them at a local Nordstrom store.
one of her associates even tried to bribe prosecutors to make the charges go away. A man claiming to be a “gypsy tribunal counsel leader” offered $4,000 to make the charges disappear.
They haven’t. Adams is charged with six counts of theft. She has been released from jail pending trial.
