He spent his life protecting the public. On Thursday, the King County Sheriff’s Office mourns one of their own.
Deputy Martin Duran, 47, had been with the King County Sheriff’s Office since 2004, most recently as a Master Police Officer assigned to the Southwest Precinct.
But his life of service started many years ago when he enlisted in the army. He went on to become a paramedic and firefighter, before joining law enforcement as a member of the Valencia County Sheriff’s Office in New Mexico.
Deputy Duran was involved in an off-duty motorcycle accident on Monday night near Frederickson in Pierce County. The King County Sheriff’s Office says he died from his injuries.
Duran is survived by his wife, daughter and adult son. Services will be held in New Mexico.
